Objects, objects, objects. They are all around us. They trigger different stimuli to our minds and we may perceive the same inanimate object differently depending on our mood and the environment. In many cases, we experience a different feeling when we view only a part of an object, say, just a piston of a steam locomotive engine, as opposed to the Gestalt view of the whole engine. In this series, I have tried to tell a story with three similar photographs. The idea is to find out whether a similar object can evoke a different feeling when placed in a completely different environment.

The Waiting series represent three chairs in three cities different environments and different time of the year. Waiting 01 is a chair shot in Harvard Square in Boston, Waiting 02 is a chair located in downtown Denver. Finally, Waiting 03 is a chair shot while on a trek in the Rocky Mountains, Colorado. To me each chair seemed longing for company.

The Loco Still series is a series on steam locomotives that are antique in todays jet age. I have tried to focus on the piston of a loco motive, as a symbol of what it has served to mankind. I have zoomed in each photograph tighter than the one before it in the series. The Door Deconstructed, as the name suggests, is one church door in fragments. All three photographs are from the same negative; I have printed only part of the negative in each photograph in the darkroom.
